Shift Availability: Positions available for Days, Evenings, Night shifts, and Weekends. Shifts may start as early as 4:30 am and conclude as late as 12:30 am.
Compensation: A hiring bonus of $1000.00 will be provided, distributed over 90, 180, and 360 days.
Position Summary: The Custodian at Ft. Carson will execute tasks as outlined in the custodial contract, adhering to all guidelines and supervisory directives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols for chemical cleaners and equipment, report equipment issues, and follow all safety policies.
- Custodial Duties: Prepare cleaning solutions, maintain floors, clean carpets and furniture, dust surfaces, wash walls and windows, manage waste disposal, and replenish supplies.
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with prior custodial experience.
Additional Qualifications: Candidates must be at least 21 years old and pass a background check and drug screening. First Aid certification is also required.
Skills: Ability to work independently, demonstrate integrity, and effectively engage with individuals of varying needs.
Mathematical Skills: Competence in basic calculations and understanding of algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to interpret various forms of instructions.
Work Environment: The Custodian will operate within the Ft. Carson facility, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. Exposure to outdoor conditions and cleaning chemicals is expected.
Physical Demands: Regular lifting of up to 25 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities and physical mobility are required.
Travel: Short trips may be necessary to perform custodial tasks within the facility.
Other Duties: This job description is not exhaustive and may be subject to change as needed.
Compensation: Pay rate is $17.20 per hour, plus an additional $4.22 per hour for benefits after the first 30 days of employment. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage, paid holidays, sick time, and paid time off after one year.
