Job Summary

The Peppermint Tree Child Development Center is seeking a dedicated and caring individual to support our teaching staff in creating a nurturing environment for young children. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in implementing developmentally appropriate activities, encouraging participation, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and implementing curricula activities that promote children's cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
  • Encourage children to participate in activities, manage classroom materials, and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through regular progress reports and informal discussions.
  • Model self-help and good hygiene skills, and ensure a smooth transition from home to child care center.
  • Follow all center policies and state regulations, and maintain a professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • A love of children and a warm, caring, and nurturing personality.
  • High energy and ability to work well with others.
  • A strong understanding of child development and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (must be willing to obtain).
  • Ability to lift a child, if needed, up to 45 lbs.
  • Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
