Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterization and angiography.
  • Assist physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, maintaining sterile conditions and operating imaging equipment.
  • Provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including educating patients and families about procedures and pre and post-procedure physical conditions.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of the unit, including stocking and inventory management.
  • Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards.
  • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and potential safety hazards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Registered ARRT or RCIS certification required within 18 months of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS certification required.
  • Surgery Technician License must be obtained within 3 months from hire date in the State of Colorado.
  • Preferred: Associates degree and 2 years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab.
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
