Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members to provide high-quality patient care.

Foster quality of care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind, communicating compassionately and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Assist in developing individualized treatment plans, complying with evaluation, treatment and documentation guidelines, and overseeing care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs.

Participate in clinical team conferences, following hospital, regulatory and professional guidelines, policies and procedures.

Requirements:

ASN from an accredited program; BSN within 4 years.

Current Colorado RN license and BLS (HCP) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.

One year of nursing experience in a comparable setting, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, and walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
