Astranis is dedicated to bridging the digital divide by connecting the four billion individuals globally who currently lack internet access. We are achieving this by developing the next generation of smaller, more cost-effective spacecraft to bring connectivity to the world.

As a team, we have successfully launched two satellites into orbit, secured ten commercial agreements worth over $1 billion in revenue, raised over $500 million from leading global investors, and built a team of over 300 exceptional engineers. Our operations are based in a historic San Francisco office, which was previously utilized for shipbuilding during the World Wars.

Our satellites, which function from geostationary orbit (GEO), weigh only 400 kg and employ a proprietary software-defined radio payload. Each satellite has the capacity to connect over two million individuals, and we are eager about the positive impact we will soon have in regions such as the Philippines, Peru, and Mexico.

Supplier Quality Intern

Internships at Astranis generally span twelve weeks and are hourly positions designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year university.

The Supplier Quality Engineering Intern will engage in addressing quality challenges with suppliers, implementing new processes, and supporting the daily functions of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify root causes of quality issues and collaborate with suppliers and Design Engineers to implement corrective actions.
  • Establish metrics for the Supplier Quality Engineering organization.
  • Monitor supplier performance and create reporting mechanisms to track and communicate performance metrics.
  • Develop inspection protocols.
  • Assist in process development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required due to U.S. export regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in hardware manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and data sheets.
The base pay for this position is $29.00 per hour.
