Position Summary:

  • Oversees and manages inventory control. Maintains necessary documentation and records. Ensures adherence to safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control standards.
  • Participates in training sessions. Acts as a resource and assists in the education and mentorship of entry-level Sterile Processing personnel.
  • Possesses knowledge of sterilization techniques and procedures for medical instruments and equipment. Familiarity with basic medical terminology is essential.
  • Exhibits strong relational and communication skills, effectively interacting with both patients and staff. Demonstrates the ability to follow safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

Must possess one of the following certifications: Certified Board Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD), Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments, supplies, and equipment in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Performs various tasks related to the cleaning, sterilization, processing, organization, and distribution of patient care equipment, instruments, supplies, and products.
  • May serve as a resource for entry-level Sterile Processing Technicians.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 Year of Relevant Experience
