Position Overview:
This role is essential in delivering high-quality imaging services across multiple facilities. The individual will be responsible for performing various imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) scans adhering to established protocols and standards.
- Reviews patient medical histories and physician directives to ensure accurate imaging.
- Informs patients about the imaging processes, equipment, and examinations to promote understanding and cooperation.
- Administers contrast media and medications as required, within the scope of practice.
- Continuously monitors patient conditions and responds to any changes in status promptly.
- Prepares necessary equipment and selects appropriate imaging parameters for optimal results.
- Positions patients accurately and executes imaging procedures, analyzing results to identify and rectify any quality issues.
- Documents and communicates scan results effectively, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Utilizes electronic health records efficiently and participates in on-call duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Experience:
Preferred experience in MRI and CT imaging.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
AART registration in Radiology with Computed Tomography (CT) certification is mandatory.
MRI registry is preferred.
Skills:
This position requires strong critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to work independently. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to various situations.
