Electrical Design Lead Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Lead to join our team at DPS Group LLC. As an Electrical Design Lead, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.
  • Maintain company drawings, templates, and standards current with applicable local codes.
  • Train and mentor junior designers on multiple design approaches and methods.
  • Act as a liaison between Electrical department and other departments and disciplines.
  • Interact with and present to contractors and clients.
  • Represent department and provide updates on electrical work in company/project meetings.
  • Write scope of work for electrical design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client.
  • Inspect electrical components during and after the electrical systems installation.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required, or four to ten years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to create, read, and interpret engineering drawings related to electrical floor plans, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and riser diagrams.
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite required; Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and International Building Codes (IBC) desired.
  • Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative.
  • Ability to multitask on multiple projects and work independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English).
