Propulsion Systems Engineer

Join Axient's Space Business Segment as a Propulsion Project Engineer and contribute to the success of the United States Space Forces Assured Access to Space – National Security Space Launch (NSSL) contract.
About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Propulsion Project Engineer to support the development and implementation of launch vehicle propulsion systems. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to design, develop, and test complex systems, ensuring successful launches and meeting customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop plans, processes, and procedures for complex systems and operational support.
- Perform assessments and analysis on launch vehicle propulsion components to ensure successful launches.
- Support customer acquisition functions, including requirements development, request for proposals, and cost/technical/schedule/performance reports.
- Perform systems engineering functions, including requirements definition, design review, test review, risk management, pedigree, hardware acceptance, verification, operations, anomaly resolution, and post-flight analyses.
- Collaborate with USAF System Program Offices, Aerospace Corporation, Launch Vehicle Contractors (LVCs), Subcontractors, Launch Sites, and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
- Prepare weekly and other written evaluations and reports of a technical nature.
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field.
- 8+ years of related experience in Aerospace.
- Experience and expertise in solid and/or liquid propulsion design, test, procedures, and anomaly resolution.
- Experience in performing risk assessments and actionable recommendations and mitigations.
- Knowledge of systems engineering functions from requirements development through post-flight reporting.
- Experience in customer interactions with USAF, SMC, DCMA, NASA, NRO, LV, subcontractors, and Aerospace Corporation.
- Experience in preparing and giving written and verbal presentations and reports to senior engineers and management.
- Excellent knowledge of Launch Vehicle propulsion interface systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Information Technology systems, and databases.
- Current DoD secret clearance or ability to obtain a secret clearance.
