  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the company's recipes and standards, and monitor sanitation practices to ensure that all employees follow standards and regulations.
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in planning daily production schedules, and appropriate cleaning schedules.
  • Maintain inventory levels of all prepared food items and raw ingredients, and place daily orders for ingredients and supplies needed to ensure efficient operation.
  • Ensure that all products are ordered according to company standards and forecasted production schedules, and received in correct unit count and condition.
  • Supervise and instruct bakers or workers engaged in food preparation, and provide helpful feedback and support.
  • Produce consistent results in the production of baked goods.
  • Maintain valid ServSafe certification and food safety personnel certificate from the City of Philadelphia.

Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience as a Baker, Pastry Cook, or Pastry Chef.
  • Knowledgeable in all food safety practices.
  • Strong familiarity with all bakery equipment, including functionality, maintenance, and safety measures.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a clean and organized fashion, and to work at a fast pace.
  • Ability to provide oral and written instructions effectively, and to provide constructive feedback in a professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective team leadership.
  • Ability to lift heavy items.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays, and early morning shifts.
