Overview:

The position of Psychiatric Technician at Aspen Medical offers a unique opportunity to work with the federal government and provide temporary contracted medical services. The role is based in Newport, RI, and involves working in various locations throughout the United States. This position provides a chance to develop skills in patient care, crisis intervention, and team collaboration.

Salary and Benefits:

We estimate the salary for this role to be around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, this position offers variable locations, virtual interviews, and a contract that can last up to a year. Hours of performance may vary by position and location but typically fall between 7am-5pm, Monday-Friday, with some flexibility for nights and weekends.

Job Description:

As a Psychiatric Technician at Aspen Medical, you will play a vital role in providing mental health services to patients. Your responsibilities will include monitoring, escorting, and participating in patient activities, providing care utilizing proper infection control and safety techniques, and documenting patient care using proper terminology. You will also utilize therapeutic assessment and interview skills to elicit accurate and concise accounts of patients' conditions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should have a certificate in psychiatric technology or an equivalent education and experience. You must also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations. Additionally, you should be able to pass a criminal background investigation and undergo urine drug testing.
