Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Exeter. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our buildings and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dust and clean surfaces, including furniture and fixtures
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors and carpets
  • Strip, wash, and buff floor areas
  • Replace light bulbs and perform minor repairs to fixtures and furnishings
  • Clean toilets, bathrooms, and common areas
  • Operate power cleaning equipment, including polishing machines and wet/dry vacuums
  • Clean entrances, shovel snow, and perform general yard care
  • Requisition and receive supplies
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks
  • Maintain equipment, including changing filters and checking safety and cleanliness
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous custodial experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and achieve high results with minimal supervision
  • Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment and climb ladders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions and maintain a professional demeanor
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to remain standing for extended periods of time, go up and down flights of steps, lift and push heavy objects, and stoop, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift. Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50lbs without assistance.
