**Job Summary**

BD is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in Canaan, CT. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machines to manufacture products that meet quality specifications. You will also be responsible for monitoring operations for product quality and equipment performance, notifying quality control representatives and cell leaders of any quality issues, and repairing and adjusting machinery as needed.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Set up and operate machines to manufacture products that meet quality specifications

• Monitor operations for product quality and equipment performance

• Notify quality control representatives and cell leaders of any quality issues

• Repair and adjust machinery as needed

• Maintain a thorough knowledge of all products produced in the department, raw materials required, and product quality specifications

• Maintain accurate documentation

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Support production by delivering raw materials, supplies, and spare parts to the production line as needed

• Notify facilitators and shift leaders of any issues with equipment or operators and help develop corrective strategies

• Perform PM tasks assigned by facilitators and work with process technicians to complete PM tasks and coordinate completion of additional repairs during PM time

• Determine critical machine repair components and maintain inventory in the parts crib

• Keep machinery, work areas, and floors neat and orderly and comply with GMP requirements

• Propose process improvements to improve cost, efficiency, quality, and productivity of equipment while maintaining change control

**Requirements**

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• 2 years of industrial or manufacturing experience required

• Strong mechanical proficiency
