Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary:

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacies. Your primary responsibility will be to assist pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care and service. You will be responsible for processing prescriptions, handling customer inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process new patient registrations and enter data into our pharmacy systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

  • Handle customer inquiries and correspondence, providing timely and effective solutions to their needs.

  • Resolve third-party rejects by reviewing, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements.

  • Provide assistance to pharmacists, identifying and communicating issues as necessary.

  • Maintain active technician licensure or certification, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Basic level PC skills, including start-up and shut-down, mouse navigation, and basic software applications.

  • Basic search engine skills, including opening a browser, typing in URLs, and filling out forms online.

  • Intermediate level keyboarding skills, including touch typing and formatting documents.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.

  • At least 18 months as a pharmacy technician with a certificate/registration by state as granted by the State board for Pharmacy or nationally recognized certification agency.

  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Intermediate to advanced level keyboarding skills, including touch typing and formatting documents.

  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
