Job Title: Quality Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector to join our team at Galaxy Technologies. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Job Duties:
  • Perform mechanical inspections of machined parts throughout the machining process, from first piece to final inspection.
  • Utilize conventional inspection tools and gauges, including micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, Deltronic pins, and comparators.
  • Participate in systematic improvements of products and the elimination of defects.
  • Operate a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and work with PC-DIMS software.
  • Create nonconformance reports (NCRs) on discrepant material/parts and ensure that nonconforming product is segregated to the Material Review Board (MRB) cage.
  • Collaborate with machinists to maximize the quality of machined products and resolve quality-related issues during first article inspection and in-process inspection.
  • Perform inspections of raw materials, including validating material test reports to material standards.
  • Inspect outside processing, such as zinc plating, passivation, anodize, and precision grinding.
  • Conduct in-process inspections on high-volume machining processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, accredited trade school, and/or Associate degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D blueprints and specifications and apply interpretation to determine acceptance or rejection.
  • 3+ years of experience in a machine shop environment.
  • 3+ years of experience setting up and performing CMM operations.
  • 3+ years of experience using manual inspection equipment, such as comparators and micrometers.
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO9001.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) ASME Y14.5M.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and other common software.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks software (a plus).
  • Knowledge of CNC programming (a plus).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. of weight.
  • Must be able to pass a required background check and drug screening.
