The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of Oglethorpe Power Corporation's power production facilities. This includes coordinating and supervising all mechanical, electrical, civil, contract, and instrument & control maintenance to ensure reliable and efficient electric power generation.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise Maintenance Personnel: Oversee the day-to-day activities of plant maintenance personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation in compliance with warranty requirements and corporate policies.
- Develop and Implement Maintenance Programs: Coordinate the development and implementation of technical, mechanical, electrical, civil, and I&C programs to enhance equipment longevity and ensure maximum safety of personnel and equipment.
- Manage Budgets and Assets: Prepare and manage capital and operating budgets for the maintenance department, and ensure accountability for actual expenditures.
- Coordinate Training and Development: Develop and implement on-the-job training programs to obtain maximum proficiency of plant maintenance personnel, and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the training program.
- Ensure Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures, as well as all applicable governmental regulations.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred.
- Experience: Twelve (12) years of progressively responsible power plant maintenance experience, including four (4) years of supervisory, management, or leadership responsibilities.
- Specialized Skills: Strong ability to work in a team environment, effective management of personnel, ability to extract and comprehend technical information, and independent decision-making capabilities.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with occasional travel and on-call duties. The Maintenance Manager must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
