Firmware Security Role Overview

This position focuses on firmware security verification for SSDs. You will be part of a team designing and developing white box and grey box tests to validate SSD firmware designs.

The successful candidate will work closely with product security architects and firmware engineers to create comprehensive firmware verification tests for SSD security features.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with firmware engineers and architects to define the verification plan for SSD security features.
  • Design and develop white box and grey box tests for SSD products.
  • Review test plans and code to ensure scalability and meet requirements.
  • Participate in failure analysis and collaborate with integration/execution engineers for test deployment.
  • Work with firmware engineers to triage and debug test failures.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in storage, semiconductor, or non-volatile memory development.
  • Passion for storage technology and secure product development.
  • Demonstrated experience in product security engineering with focus on validation of product security algorithms and feature sets.
  • Proficiency in security protocols such as TCG Opal/Ruby/Pyrite, IEEE1667, SPDM, etc.
  • Knowledge of applied cryptography and security including secure boot, device attestation, and user data encryption.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 per year
