Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will work under general supervision to execute a variety of mechanical and maintenance tasks, ensuring that all facilities and equipment operate at peak efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing work orders that involve electrical component replacements, plumbing repairs, ceiling tile replacements, roof leak repairs, and general carpentry tasks.
  • Constructing new storage areas, office spaces, sidewalks, retaining walls, and corridors.
  • Conducting inspections of rooftops, walls, walkways, lighting fixtures, windows, and drainage systems to identify preventive maintenance needs.
  • Troubleshooting and performing diverse electrical tasks.
  • Identifying the causes of building and process system malfunctions.
  • Managing various plumbing projects using materials such as copper, PVC, brass, and stainless steel.
  • Assessing refrigeration system performance and executing necessary repairs.
  • Coordinating work assignments and small projects requiring multiple mechanics.
  • Monitoring the Building Management System (BMS) and Isensix System.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records and logs of maintenance activities.
  • Preparing detailed reports on maintenance tasks.
  • Performing additional related duties as required.

Note:
The technician will participate in a rotation with other mechanics and will be available on call.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have at least two years of experience in general building maintenance and equipment repair. Proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand and power tools is essential, along with strong problem-solving, organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.

A valid driver's license is required, as NYBC vehicles will be utilized for travel between various donor sites as necessary.

Compensation:
This position is eligible for overtime and offers a shift incentive. The proposed hourly salary for this role varies based on location and experience.
