Animal Care Technician

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with various tasks, including animal handling and sanitation.
- Maintain cleanliness of cages, runs, exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces.
- Ensure that patients have clean bedding, fresh water, and litter pans.
- Sanitize pet dishes and feeding equipment.
- Feed and assist in administering medication to hospitalized animals.
- Handle laundry and the sanitization of towels, gowns, and surgical instruments.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
- Keep all surfaces and counters clean and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas and grounds.
- Implement daily sanitization protocols for kennels and treatment areas.
- Identify and report any signs of illness or behavioral changes in animals to the veterinarian on duty.
- Ensure that hospital supplies are adequately stocked.
- Exhibit a willingness to assist and collaborate with team members.
- Adhere to established procedures, policies, and guidelines.
- Work independently when necessary.
- Monitor and care for animals under anesthesia.
- Demonstrate a capacity to learn quickly and adapt to high-pressure situations.
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds as required.

- Manage telephone inquiries and appointment scheduling efficiently.
- Maintain accurate medical records as required by law.
- Proficiently use various digital platforms.
- Execute all aspects of the center's standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; or one year of related experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in a veterinary setting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with veterinary software and laboratory systems is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
