Job Summary

The LPN-Resident role is a critical position within the Nurse Residency Program at Prisma Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for attending quality and core curriculum classes, actively participating in professional development workshops and peer support groups, and successfully completing all clinical competencies and validation requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend all quality and core curriculum classes to enhance nursing knowledge and skills.
  • Participate in professional development workshops and peer support groups to foster growth and collaboration.
  • Complete all clinical competencies and validation requirements to ensure proficiency in nursing practices.
  • Work under the direct and indirect supervision of the Clinical Education Team to refine nursing knowledge and skills.
  • Actively participate in managing clinical situations under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Adhere to policy and procedure requirements, including licensure renewal, assigned training, employee health screenings, time and attendance policy, dress code policy, patient confidentiality, infection control, and medication administration.
Accountabilities
  • Data Collection: Collect patient data and complete required forms with appropriate responses according to unit standards.
  • Planning Care: Participate in the interdisciplinary care team to provide input on the plan of care based on nursing process and which incorporates the plans of other disciplines and continuing care needs.
  • Implementing Care: Provide care that conforms to accepted practice standards, including treatments and procedures as prescribed and according to patient care standards.
  • Evaluation: Record patient care delivered as planned and any variation, with appropriate rationale.
Leadership
  • Integrate cost-effective measures into nursing practice.
  • Recognize unit problems and take responsibility for escalating to the RN.
  • Demonstrate active participation in QI processes.
  • Comply with hospital expectations to meet staffing demands based on patient care needs.
Requirements
  • Completion of a LPN program recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as a LPN in South Carolina.
Work Environment

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is variable, and the location is Greenville Memorial Med Campus.
