About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist 3 to join our team at the University of Miami. As a key member of the surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and proper equipment function.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and maintain a high level of collaboration with peers.
  • Apply advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role, demonstrating expertise in surgical techniques and emergent situations.
  • Exhibit a higher level of collaboration with peers, making decisions related to surgical patient care and serving as an informal resource for less experienced technologists.
  • Provide support in the training of students and onboarding of new surgical technologists, serving as a mentor and role model.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred, with current AHA Basic Life Support certificate required.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, with skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines, and to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
