Position Overview

RAYUS Radiology is currently seeking a dedicated MRI Imaging Specialist to enhance our team. We are redefining the standards in radiology, emphasizing its vital role in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. As an MRI Imaging Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to operate MRI scanners to capture detailed images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluations. With a focus on patient care, you will deliver MRI services that adhere to professional standards while ensuring exceptional customer service. Each patient arrives at our facilities seeking clarity and answers. You will support them through this often challenging experience by providing clear explanations and addressing their inquiries regarding the examination process.

This is a part-time role requiring less than 20 hours per week, with varying days and hours.

Key Responsibilities:

(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
  • Conduct patient screenings prior to examinations to identify any precautions or contraindications, utilizing two patient identifiers to confirm the correct patient and procedure.
  • Provide thorough explanations and prepare patients for MRI procedures, ensuring proper positioning for optimal imaging.
  • Execute routine and advanced MRI procedures on specified body areas for physician use in diagnosing and treating patient conditions, while maintaining minimal supervision and reducing repeat scans, all while offering support and communication to patients throughout the process.
  • Adjust MRI scanning parameters as necessary to achieve the best imaging results.
  • Foster positive relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues.
  • Adhere strictly to physicians' directives and comply with safety regulations to safeguard yourself, patients, and coworkers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment, promoting safety for patients and staff.
  • Uphold ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
  • Keep equipment in optimal working condition; perform cleaning and disinfection after each use.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
(5%) MRI Department Support
  • Assist in maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software enhancements.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request replenishments as needed.
  • Support the training of new staff, providing resources and technical knowledge as applicable.
(5%) Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • ARRT registered technologist, in good standing.
  • Graduate from an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited radiography program.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the relevant state.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Experience and training sufficient to independently perform MRI procedures.
  • Certification in imaging specialty.
