Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Ascension Saint Thomas. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for operating a scanner to obtain high-quality images used to diagnose and treat various pathologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for MRI examinations, ensuring accurate anatomic and technical parameters are selected to produce high-quality images.
  • Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media, and develop film in an automatic processor, maintaining high standards of image quality.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for patients and staff.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and report any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel, ensuring optimal equipment performance.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and other designated areas.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following certifications required: Cardiographic Tech, Nuclear Medical Tech, Radiologic Technologist, Medical Sonographer, or Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
