Career Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist (RN) to join our team at Beacon Brook Center for Health & Rehabilitation. As an Infection Preventionist, you will develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.

This role requires strong clinical, organizational, and decision-making skills. You will be responsible for providing oversight of infection control and prevention programs, reviewing and updating policies and procedures, and overseeing the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, Employee Health Program, and Universal Influenza Program.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs to prevent the spread of infections among residents and staff.
  • Review, update, and direct the implementation of infection control and prevention policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, Employee Health Program, and Universal Influenza Program.
  • Serve as a member of the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee.
  • Evaluate compliance with new hire screening, documentation, and immunization reporting requirements.
  • Perform rounds to identify potential hazards, monitor infection control practices, and evaluate compliance with standard and transmission-based precautions.
  • Develop and deliver staff education programs to promote infection prevention and control.
  • Track, analyze, and present surveillance trends and develop action plans in conjunction with QAPI process.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A valid state nursing license.
  • A degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology.
  • Infection Control and Prevention Certification required prior to assuming the role.
  • Experience in a Long-Term Care or similar healthcare setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
