Parent Partner

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Parent Partner to join our team. As a Parent Partner, you will play a vital role in supporting families and children involved in the care system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to parents and caregivers who have children being served through the system.
- Utilize your personal experience as a parent or guardian to relate to families and help foster a relationship of trust and support between families and the treatment team.
- Advocate and liaison services between clinicians, treatment staff, community agencies, and families to ensure families receive proper support.
- Facilitate alliances between families and our organization.
- Participate as a full and active member of the child and family team.
- Document work and maintain accurate records.
- Assist families in discussing difficult issues at child and family team meetings.
- Link clients with community services and follow up to ensure they receive appropriate support.
- Lead or co-lead parent groups for current and discharged families.
- Participate in trainings for treatment staff and families.
- Attend and participate in treatment planning meetings, court review hearings, and other meetings to provide support and information.
- Reach out to families to meet their needs, including visiting homes and initiating contacts.
- Contribute to individual and group counseling, providing education, consultation, and other needed services.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior personal experience as a parent or guardian of a child involved in the care system required.
- Probation and/or DCFS case must be closed for a minimum of one year.
- Two years of experience in a mental health setting preferred.
- Current driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance required.
- Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks.
