Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Automation and Control Systems Engineer, you will engage in a variety of tasks that encompass the entire lifecycle of control systems across diverse industries and clients.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Control Systems Design: Lead detailed design initiatives on assigned projects from initial data collection to final execution. Collaborate with various disciplines and engage in design evaluations to ensure system performance standards are achieved.
- PLC and HMI Programming: Develop original, well-structured code and modify existing code. Employ sound design methodologies to create comprehensive system visualizations, reporting, and alarm functionalities.
- Architecture Configuration: Set up industrial Ethernet networks and configure both physical and virtual computing environments. Establish connections to client networks.
- Commissioning and Field Work: Oversee the startup, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of equipment at both local and client sites. Fine-tune systems and control algorithms, and resolve issues with non-operational control systems.
- Documentation: Contribute to and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Develop process control narratives and assist in creating equipment Operation & Maintenance manuals.
- Project Management: Regularly update the Controls/SCADA segments of project plans. Collaborate proactively with Project Managers to address project-related issues regarding schedule, budget, or scope, and devise suitable solutions.
- Organizational Improvement: Act as a leader in promoting and enhancing departmental standards for design and programming. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior engineers.

About You
At Ramboll, we are committed to supporting your personal and professional growth. We seek candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or higher in a relevant engineering field.
- Experience in control system integration and SCADA programming, with years of experience potentially compensating for educational requirements.
- Proficiency in programming HMIs, with a preference for Inductive Automation's Ignition, and familiarity with various platforms (Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, GE, etc.) is advantageous.
- Experience in configuring industrial networking systems and associated hardware, primarily Ethernet-based.
- Knowledge and programming experience with the Rockwell Automation Logix 5000 platform; familiarity with multiple PLC platforms (Rockwell Automation Logix 500, GE, Siemens, etc.) is beneficial.
- Demonstrated experience in either Machine Control or Process Control; both areas are desirable.
- Understanding of control system design, including electrical principles and hardware design.
- Familiarity with additional skills such as virtual machines, MES, Linux, Hyper-V, ESXi, SQL, Python, C#, Java, cybersecurity, or AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
