Medication Aide Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medication Aide to join our team at Premier Healthcare Service. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Dispense oral, inhalation, and topical medications to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, adhering to state and federal regulations.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report any concerns to the nursing staff.
- Perform tasks associated with medication administration, including vital sign checks, medication calculations, and stocking the medication cart.
- Record medication administration accurately and in accordance with agency procedures.
- Assist the nursing team in providing care to clients, including observing and reporting client needs.
- Operate within the scope of your education and training, taking responsibility for your actions and adhering to state laws and regulations.
- Deliver care in an ethical, legal, and compassionate manner, prioritizing client comfort and well-being.
- Respect client autonomy and confidentiality, only sharing information as necessary to ensure client safety and welfare.
- Adhere to federal, state, and agency regulations to protect your own health and the health of others.
- Seek guidance from the nursing team as needed to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with MARs and laptop technology is a plus.
Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Medication Aide with the state
- Pass a state background check and drug screening
- CPR/BLS, First Aid, TB, and RMA certification
- Previous experience in a similar role
Pay is negotiable based on experience. We are seeking two Overnight RMA's for a 7pm-7am shift, with an alternating schedule and every other weekend required.
