Job Summary

Spartan Tool is seeking an experienced Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager to oversee all aspects of material-related activity within the company. This includes distribution inventory, components, and raw material procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize stockouts.
  • Establish and manage ordering policies to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to establish and update item-based forecasts to drive purchases.
  • Analyze demand and forecast to set optimized buy plans and place purchase orders respecting supplier lead times.
  • Manage inventory performance to maximize fill rates, availability, and minimize stockouts.
  • Maintain accuracy of data within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Select and manage suppliers to maximize performance in Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Ensure production plans are in place with work orders released to cover demand of manufactured components.
  • Ensure materials are properly allocated to work orders and provided to production in a timely manner.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy of component and raw material stock.
  • Ensure existing standards are properly trained and followed, and update and improve them as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and ongoing awareness of Supply Chain and Inventory Management Best Practices.
  • Strong organizational development, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based inventory planning tools.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel ability.
  • Experience with establishing and managing to key performance indicators.
  • Leadership skills in team management, influence, planning, negotiation, and communication.
  • Bachelor's degree with specialization in Logistics, Material Management, or Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, and 5-10 years of relevant management experience.
