Job Title: Registered Dietitian

At Sigma Healthcare Team, we are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team in Bethel, AK. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive diabetes education and care to patients with Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, and patients at high risk of developing diabetes.

Job Summary:

This is a grant-funded position that requires a strong knowledge base in diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and public health. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field and be eligible to obtain a valid Alaska RDN license. A master's degree is preferred, and experience in a clinical health setting is highly valued.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive diabetes education and care to patients via telephonic communication, video teleconferencing, and in-person education sessions.
  • Order labs for patients according to hospital policies and document education in electronic health records.
  • Assist in the planning, coordinating, and providing of diabetes-related health promotion activities in the YK Delta Region.
  • Work closely with village clinic and hospital staff to promote diabetes standards of care and inform of new advances in diabetes care.
  • Participate in department planning and goal setting to achieve excellence in patient care and partnership with our tribal leaders.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree through an accredited university using course work approved by an accreditation council through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Valid Alaska RDN license required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain valid CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator) certification within 2 years of hire date.
  • Preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
