Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Technical Application Support Engineer. As a key member of our inside sales support team, you will provide technical customer service and support to our customers, including basic applications support and equipment service support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify customer product requirements and provide direct customer technical support.
  • Accurately enter proposals into the computer system in a timely manner, including capital equipment orders.
  • Support training of new and existing Customer Service Reps.
  • Enter and adjust product pricing and descriptions into the computer system in a timely manner. Create item numbers and product structures in ERP system.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure products are appropriately specified.
  • Provide professional inside sales support/customer service/technical support to customers, including confirming order status, providing assistance in selecting products, tracing shipped orders, expediting open orders and quotes on standard products.
  • Effectively and professionally act as liaison between customers and Manufacturing, Purchasing, Accounting, Shipping & Receiving department personnel to expedite order processing.
  • Provide telephone and on-site machine service and maintenance assistance, also technical support to product users.
  • Oversee equipment service calls. Determine parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need and schedule the service call.

Requirements

A technical degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with industrial machinery a plus.
