Job Summary

Maguire Iron is seeking a highly skilled Class A CDL Driver to join our team. As a Class A CDL Driver, you will be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination with step-deck trailers hauling oversized loads and delivering materials and job trailers to work-sites in a 25-state area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow safety and load securement procedures when transporting materials
  • Perform vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
  • Maintain electronic logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, and traffic violations to supervisor
  • Load and unload step-deck trailers using forklifts and overhead lifts
  • Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team on some trips
  • Pick-up and delivery of parts in town
  • Coordinate project material and equipment on campus
Requirements
  • One or more years of experience as a Class A CDL driver
  • Prior construction material delivery experience preferred
  • Valid Class A nonrestricted CDL required with optional Tanker Endorsement
  • Able to work in unfavorable weather conditions; both heat and cold
  • Prolonged periods sitting in a tractor cab
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to travel frequently
