Job Description:

At Maguire Iron, we are seeking a highly skilled Class A CDL Driver to join our team. As a Class A CDL Driver, you will be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination with step-deck trailers, hauling oversized loads, and delivering materials and job trailers to work-sites in a 25-state area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety and load securement procedures when transporting materials.
  • Perform vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Maintain electronic logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to supervisor.
  • Load and unload step-deck trailers with forklifts and overhead lifts.
  • Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team on some trips.
  • Pick-up and delivery of parts in town.
  • Coordinate project material and equipment on campus.
Requirements:
  • One or more years of experience as a Class A CDL driver.
  • Prior construction material delivery experience preferred.
  • Valid Class A nonrestricted CDL required with optional Tanker Endorsement.
  • Able to work in unfavorable weather conditions; both heat and cold.
  • Prolonged periods sitting in a tractor cab.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
