Job Summary

The Clinical Administrator is a key member of the MedStar Health leadership team, responsible for directing and supervising clinical and administrative resources to ensure the provision of high-quality, safe, and cost-effective nursing care for patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise clinical and administrative resources to ensure the provision of high-quality nursing care.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Leadership team and other administrators to maintain adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Consult and communicate with nursing and hospital administration to address operational issues and matters pertaining to staffing and management.
  • Function as liaison between patient care administration and medical staff.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Manage materials, equipment, and supply activities to ensure adequate availability and utilization.
  • Coordinate with Capacity Management and Admissions Departments to strategize for daily patient flow.
  • Monitor high-risk patients and complicated conditions, and institute appropriate actions.
  • Ensure compliance with unit, divisional, and hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory and accreditation standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing or health-related field preferred.
  • 3-4 years of progressive nursing care experience required; leadership and management experience preferred.
  • RN-Registered Nurse-State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the State of Maryland or Compact Upon Hire required.
  • CPR-Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.
