National Park Medical Center is a 166-bed full-service acute care hospital in beautiful Hot Springs, Arkansas.

A Joint Commission accredited facility; we provide service to the five-county area surrounding Hot Springs.

We are part of LifePoint Health, a network of hospitals and healthcare facilities dedicated to providing quality patient care and improving our communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Explain procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate apprehension.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
  • Precare for equipment and assist physicians during treatment and examination of patients.
  • Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients.
  • Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or physicians of patients' conditions and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Take temperatures, pulses, blood pressures, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess patients' conditions.
  • Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Document nursing history and physical assessments for assigned patients.
  • Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs of patients, as prescribed by physicians and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.

Requirements:

  • Current RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
