Responsibilities & Requirements:
The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for assessing educational needs and ensuring compliance within the unit. This role supports the Clinical Nurse Manager in the planning, execution, evaluation, and documentation of unit initiatives and hospital-wide programs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Engages in coaching and applies learned skills to new situations.

- Communicates effectively with patients, staff, management, and physicians regarding issues and concerns.

- Ensures compliance with accreditation standards.
- Acts as a clinical resource for staff concerning patient care standards.
- Participates in unit representation as directed by the Clinical Nurse Manager/Director.
- Continuously improves skills and competencies.
- Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates self-motivation, independence, and adaptability.
- Maintains current nursing knowledge and adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
- Accepts responsibility for the impact of actions on patients and team members.
- Reports errors and near misses promptly and accurately.
- Understands continuous improvement processes supporting quality assurance and performance improvement goals.
- Ensures adherence to safety procedures and guidelines.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required within three years of employment.
- Active RN license in the state of Ohio.
- Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience.
- Primarily evening and night shifts; at least 50% of the time must be during these hours.
- Certification in ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC as required by the unit.
- Demonstrates leadership and teaching capabilities.
- Exhibits professional and ethical conduct.
- Must possess a passion for nursing and teamwork.
