Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in fundamental infrastructure technologies encompassing networking, storage solutions, computing, messaging systems, mobility frameworks, cloud services, and operational security.

The Senior VoIP and Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced technical solutions for both new and existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and oversee organizational systems including networks, storage solutions, email systems, both physical and virtual servers, user management systems, and remote access solutions.

- Administer and support cloud-based services and associated technologies (e.g., Azure, Office365, AWS);
- Ensure optimal performance of all systems.
- Conduct regular maintenance and manage user-facing tasks.
- Provide expert-level support through escalated technical assistance.

- Serve as a mentor to other IT team members in network and system operations.

- Prepare and disseminate technical documentation for all assigned systems and projects, including processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides, training materials, and change management logs.

- Establish and maintain relationships with external IT customers, vendors, and partners.
- Participate in on-call rotations.
- Some overtime and/or non-standard hours may be required; and
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
- Proficient in managing enterprise-wide technology infrastructure.
- Ability to oversee multiple infrastructure components.
- Solid understanding of encryption technologies.
- Foundational knowledge of ITIL (certification preferred);
- Familiarity with Agile, KanBan, or similar project methodologies.
- Expert proficiency in designing and implementing IT infrastructure systems in large-scale Microsoft Windows-based environments.
- Advanced knowledge in IP networking (LAN/WAN, MPLS, VPN, VLAN, WiFi) design and management.
- Expertise in network and storage design and maintenance (SAN, NAS);
- Proficient in various systems, servers, and protocols (VMware, Windows Server, TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory);
- Advanced knowledge of PowerShell for system utilities, automation, and administration.
- Familiarity with monitoring solutions (Orion, Splunk, vRealize Suite/Aria Operations);
- Knowledge of enterprise backup software; and
- Demonstrated understanding of cyber risk and system hardening techniques.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degrees in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with VMware technologies.
- At least 5 years in a System Engineer role focusing on Microsoft server systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, building, securing, and managing virtualization technologies based on the VMware stack (ESXi, vCenter).
- Experience with vSAN and NSX is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years in systems analysis.
- At least 5 years of experience with storage technologies.
