Advanced Practice Provider for Hospital Medicine Preoperative Clinic

Job Summary
MUSC Health is seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Hospital Medicine Preoperative Clinic team. As an integral part of our medical team, you will work closely with our physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to patients through comprehensive history taking and physical examinations
- Evaluate and treat patients based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results
- Assess cardiac and pulmonary risk in elective preoperative patients and review and manage medications in the perioperative period
- Coordinate with anesthesia, surgery, and subspecialists regarding medical optimization
- Initiate referrals to other healthcare providers and/or consult with the attending physician or collaborating physician
- Document and bill for direct care provided
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN
- Preferred experience: minimum of two years outpatient experience as a PA, AGPNP/ANP, FNP preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform job functions while standing, walking, and sitting, with continuous requirements to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, and fully use both hands and legs
