Fairview Health Services is seeking a dedicated professional to enhance our pharmacy operations.
This role is a temporary position requiring a commitment of 90 days.
Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Retail Pharmacist will deliver exceptional clinical services to patients while overseeing daily pharmacy functions. Responsibilities will include guiding support staff and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. Key duties encompass sterile and nonsterile compounding, verification of prescriptions, patient consultations, data management, order processing, and inventory oversight. Pharmacists will receive comprehensive training to ensure proficiency in all pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize strong interpersonal and customer service skills to achieve operational goals.
- Conduct initial patient assessments related to prescribed therapies, gathering and analyzing pertinent data.
- Assess the relevance of symptoms in relation to disease conditions and suggest necessary adjustments to medication regimens.
- Identify and evaluate the clinical significance of adverse reactions and complications arising from drug therapies.
- Monitor patient records for potential drug interactions and allergies.
- Provide guidance and address inquiries from patients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding medication therapies.
- Ensure accurate and timely dispensing of prescription medications, adhering to labeling requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve medication-related issues in the best interest of patients.
- Guarantee compliance with all legal and regulatory standards in the dispensing process.
- Engage in error management and ensure precise billing practices.
- Leverage technology to enhance accuracy and efficiency in pharmacy operations.
- Assist in the training and supervision of pharmacy support staff as needed.
- Direct technical personnel, prioritize tasks, and provide constructive feedback.
- Assume responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacy manager.
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and accurate medication delivery.
- Prepare and fulfill prescription orders for timely delivery, complying with all regulatory requirements.
- Train staff to maintain regulatory compliance and conduct audits to uphold standards.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- B.S. Degree or Pharm.D. in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
Experience Requirements:
- One to three years of experience as a practicing pharmacist in a community setting.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current Minnesota Pharmacy License.
