Position Overview:
At Brighton Surgery Center, LLC, we specialize in providing exceptional ophthalmology services along with select podiatry care. We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Anesthesia Holding area team, where you will deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to both physical and psychosocial needs.

Key Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:
  • Implementing and overseeing the patient's individualized care plan, which includes educating patients about surgical procedures and facilitating effective communication among team members.
  • Creating a welcoming and professional environment to enhance the overall surgical experience for patients.
  • Ensuring all pre-operative information is accurately verified and preparing patients for their upcoming surgeries.
  • Contacting patients to provide essential pre-operative information for the next day's surgical schedule.
  • Following up with patients from previous surgical cases to monitor their recovery.
  • Collaborating effectively with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Post-Operative Responsibilities:
As a post-operative RN in Phase I and Phase II, your duties will include:
  • Recovering patients who have undergone general anesthesia or monitored anesthesia care (MAC), specifically in the fields of pediatrics, ophthalmology, and podiatry.
  • Communicating any anesthesia-related concerns to the anesthesia provider.
  • Assessing, planning, organizing, and executing care plans in accordance with BSC policies and physician orders, ensuring that patients' physical and psychosocial needs are met prior to discharge.
  • Documenting all relevant information in the EMR.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • A minimum of two years of peri-operative nursing experience.
  • A current RN license to practice in New York State.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in nursing is preferred, with 3-5 years of relevant experience being advantageous.
