A Day In The LifeAssemble and test units according to work instructions or specific customer requests. Propose enhancements to supervisors related to assigned tasks.
Maintain a tidy and organized workspace in accordance with Hubbell's 6S policy. Adhere to both written and verbal instructions from management, leads, and customer directives. Assist in the upkeep of equipment within the work area. Operate all machinery safely and efficiently. Provide support and training to fellow employees in designated work areas. Aid management in maintaining inventory levels. Inspect personal work for compliance with standards. Support other areas as needed.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. Overtime, including weekends, may be required. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as dictated by the specific work environment. Perform additional duties as assigned.
What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?A basic high school education or General Education Diploma (GED), or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with two-digit numbers, as well as using units of American currency and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
Exhibit a positive attitude towards work, focusing on maximizing production and product quality. Demonstrate self-motivated initiative to enhance quantity, quality, and efficiency in collaboration with co-workers.
Capability to utilize necessary tools (gages, guns, and pumps) and apply common sense to execute detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Skills in prioritizing tasks and completing them promptly, as well as multitasking as required. Knowledge of proper safety equipment usage, including safety glasses, earplugs, and work boots when necessary.
Physical ability to navigate the facility, operate overhead cranes and forklifts, and lift up to 35 pounds. Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching may be required. Ability to stand or sit on a stool in one location for up to two hours at a time, and to manipulate production parts with hands for similar durations.
