Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse

We're seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be able to provide professional CVOR care services to support a team of physicians, RNs, and other medical staff.

As a CVOR RN, you'll be responsible for circulating for a variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures and other complex surgeries. You should be prepared to assess, plan, and evaluate the nursing care needs of patients before, during, and after a surgical procedure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and planning patient care needs
  • Participating in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation
  • Administering prescribed medications and applying dressings
  • Assisting physicians during procedures
  • Maintaining aseptic techniques and monitoring situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique
  • Coordinating the operating room with respect to sterility, cleanliness, and availability of functioning equipment and supplies
  • Ensuring proper handling of specimens

CVOR Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. They should also be able to easily lift 20 pounds and be prepared to lift patients up to 50 pounds at times.

Requirements include:

  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • 2 years of recent acute care experience

Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
