Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding on aluminum components in various positions, including standing, sitting, and overhead.
- Navigate and work on bulkheads and ladders safely.
- Execute tack welding and overhead burning of steel.
- Utilize tools such as jacks and come-alongs, which may weigh up to 25 lbs.
- Handle materials and tools effectively, including loading and unloading parts.
- Crawl through tight spaces and access compartments as required.
- Demonstrate flexibility and agility to adapt to different working environments.
- Operate cranes and forklifts as needed.
- Employ power tools safely, ensuring two-handed operation for safety.
- Work on uneven surfaces, maintaining balance and stability.
- Exhibit strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant welding experience.
- Proven skills validated through a welding assessment.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role have been assessed and include:
- Postural: Ability to move limbs and torso in various positions, including floor to overhead.
- Dexterity: Good hand coordination and frequent use of hands for tools and materials.
- Cardiorespiratory Fitness: Capability to perform medium-level work involving continuous standing and walking in warm environments.
- General Activities: Tasks include standing, walking, lifting, climbing, and balancing.
Physical Demand Level - Medium: Ability to lift up to 35 pounds independently and up to 70 pounds with assistance.
