Breastfeeding Success Specialist

As a Breastfeeding Success Specialist at Albany Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to new mothers and their infants. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

This position requires a skilled lactation consultant who can assess and evaluate patient needs for effective breastfeeding success. You will work collaboratively with nursing staff, pediatricians, neonatologists, obstetricians, and other stakeholders to promote prenatal and postpartum community breastfeeding education. Your expertise will ensure that all patients receive the highest quality care, from initial assessment to ongoing support.

• Evaluate patients' lactation needs and develop individualized plans for successful breastfeeding
• Provide education and support to breastfeeding mothers and families to foster a positive experience
• Collaborate with Speech Language Therapists, OT/PT, Dieticians, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care
• Promote prenatal and postpartum community breastfeeding education through childbirth education classes and community outreach
• Ensure implementation of effective family-centered breastfeeding success by collaborating with healthcare providers and nursing staff

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to provide education and support to breastfeeding mothers and families

We offer a competitive salary range of $33-$47.61 per hour, based on experience.
