Breastfeeding Specialist

Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled Breastfeeding Specialist to join our team.

This role requires an individual who is passionate about providing exceptional care to new mothers and their babies. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our nursing staff, obstetricians, and pediatricians to ensure that breastfeeding support is integrated into every patient's plan of care.

• Assess patients' lactation needs by obtaining medical history of mother-infant dyad.
• Educate and assist breastfeeding mothers and families to foster a successful breastfeeding experience.
• Evaluate patient's response to care and initiate independent and/or collaborative changes where appropriate.
• Research mother's medication to ensure the safety of breastfeeding for the infant.
