Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist at Albany Med plays a vital role in the delivery and coordination of patient care. This position requires a skilled and compassionate nurse who can assess, plan, and implement care for patients in the post-cardiothoracic surgery unit. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered
• Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions
• Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a current RN license, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
