Job Summary: The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a qualified Music Educator to lead our Fine Arts programs for youth and adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement music classes for school-age children and adults, focusing on music theory, performance skills, and character development.
- Supervise and mentor program participants, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Enforce rules and discipline fairly, promoting positive behavior and respect among participants.
- Report incidents and accidents to the director, completing necessary forms and documentation.
- Set up and take down equipment and materials for activities, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Interact positively with volunteers, visitors, and program participants, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
- Drive program-related activities, utilizing a company vehicle as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the director, supporting the overall mission and goals of The Salvation Army USA Central Territory.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Music Educator will supervise all youth in The Shield Fine Arts Academy programs, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and well-being.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in music education, working with children and adults.
- A Bachelor's Degree in music or a related field, or extensive experience teaching music.
- An advanced degree or training is desired, but a combination of a High School diploma or equivalent and teaching experience will be considered.
