We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Animal Care Technician to join our team at the Charles County Animal Care Center. Key Responsibilities- Administer vaccines, medications, and perform health exams on animals
- Perform humane euthanasia and dispose of deceased animals
- Maintain accurate records of animal intake, health information, and other relevant data
- Clean and maintain kennel areas, feed animals, and perform related housekeeping duties
- Provide exceptional customer service to the public, including answering questions, providing information, and assisting with adoptions
- Transport animals to and from veterinarians, as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of related experience preferred
- Certification in humane euthanasia required
- Valid driver's license required; acceptable driving record necessary
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
This is a safety-sensitive position, and employees in this role are subject to random drug and alcohol screening. Work is subject to frequent interruptions, and employees may be required to work weekends, holidays, and beyond regular scheduled hours.
