Electrical Engineer for Human-Computer Interaction Hardware

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Apple's Input Devices group. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the next generation of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) hardware, including mice, trackpads, keyboards, and remotes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-volume, high-quality consumer electronic products, including HCI hardware.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive results and ensure successful project execution.
  • Assess project risk and maturity levels, and perform tasks including characterization and validation across all development builds.
  • Apply state-of-the-art sensing and haptic technologies to design next-generation human interface devices.
  • Author detailed engineering requirements specifications and manage PCB layout design of the electrical system.
  • Interface with and present to cross-functional leaders for project reviews and discussions.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of board/system-level electrical designs with micro-controllers.
  • Hands-on experience in prototype design, bring-up, debugging, characterization, and functional verification.
  • Working knowledge of system-level design and familiar with common interfaces: I2C, SPI, JTAG, USB.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful track record of working closely with mechanical engineers and firmware teams.
  • Experienced in DC-DC converter design and application (buck and boost).
  • Experienced in sensor selection and integration at system level.
  • Experienced in designing high-volume, high-quality consumer electronic products.
  • Experienced in data analysis and scripting languages.
