Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Mobility Specialist to join our team. This is a temporary contract assignment that requires a high level of expertise in working with visually impaired students. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing hands-on programs and activities that promote student learning and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Program Development: Work with administrators and instructional teams to plan and implement programs that meet the unique needs of visually impaired students.
  2. Classroom Management: Manage the classroom environment to ensure a safe and supportive learning space for students.
  3. Student Progress: Monitor and evaluate student progress, making adjustments to programs as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with other faculty and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that promote student success.
  5. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in visually impaired education.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Certification or eligibility for certification by the Florida State Department of Education to teach in the State of Florida.
  • Experience: Must have experience working with visually impaired students and a strong understanding of the principles of visually impaired education.
