Job Title: Inspector B

At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Inspector B to join our team. As an Inspector B, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of a broad range of fabrications, subassemblies, assemblies, component parts, purchased material, and tooling to ensure compliance with customer and NG specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of fabrications, subassemblies, assemblies, component parts, purchased material, and tooling to ensure compliance with customer and NG specifications and standards.
  • Identify and tag defective parts, material, and incorrect processes with appropriate inspection documentation.
  • Setup and use measuring equipment, including surface plates, optical tooling, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Apply analytical evaluation methods and calculations involving triangulation, compound angles, etc.
  • Serialize and maintain a log for parts, assemblies, tooling, etc.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical functional acceptance tests on purchased and manufactured parts and materials.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Must have fluent reading and writing in English
  • Minimum 3 years of receiving inspection or mechanical inspection experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings/blueprints, GD&T, parts list, and material specs (Mil-spec, ASTM, AMS etc.)
  • Ability and experience using various handheld (manual and auto) inspection tools
  • Knowledge of quality processes, problem-solving, and writing nonconforming parts
  • Ability to complete basic shop math equations and problem-solving
  • Must be a US citizen
